Letting go of 2017… to enetr 2018 well

“The way you leave is the way you will enter.”

As you make goals and dream dreams and make goals for 2018, consider what it is that you have to purposefully leave behind from 2017. The apostle Paul says it like this in Philippians 3v13-4

Brothers and sisters, I myself don’t think I’ve reached it, but I do this one thing: I forget about the things behind me and reach out for the things ahead of me.14 The goal I pursue is the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus.

I pray that you will have the grace to forgive and forget what lies behind, and the faith to reach out to all of Gods best for you in 2018!

A life lesson from my mother about facing the mountains in your life…

Are you facing some “mountains” in your life? I was in South Africa earlier this week for some speaking appointments and envisioning for Europe, and I took a couple of days to connect with my dear mom. I asked her to share a “life lesson” with us, and I really think that this 3-minute video will be a blessing to you. The video had 2,000 views in 24 hrs on my Facebook page, and over 50 comments! (I think she should start a Youtube channel!)

Watch it below…

About your disappointments…

It’s so easy to let your past ruin your present, and your future.

Disappointments are part of this life, but please don’t let your disappointments of the past keep you from your appointments in the future.

Philippians 3:13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead

No matter what you have gone through, or go through, I pray that you will always know the one thing that will never disappoint: GOD’S HOPE

This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. – Romans 5:5

Weep, before you vote…

How will you vote?  The London mayoral elections? Trump or ? Brexit or staying in? ANC or ? The next Philippine president? What to do about Zuma?

In many parts of the world we get to vote and how you vote is a huge question, but let me encourage us – these who call ourselves followers of Jesus – to WEEP BEFORE WE VOTE.

In Luke 19v41, as Jesus is nearing Jerusalem, we read:

And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it…

What He saw moved Him to tears. When the Apostle Paul came to Athens, we read thatGod Governemnt“he was provoked in his spirit, because the city was given over to idols.” (Acts 17:16) What should we weep for, and be grieved about, in our cities and nations?

Here’s an extract from a brilliant article by J John on “The cross and the ballot box” about what we “evangelicals” (= bible & Jesus believing people) should consider weeping about:

Get your mountain climbing inspiration here!

This past Sunday I interviewed Selebelo Selemolela about his feat of summiting mount Everest in 2006, thus becoming the youngest (and 2nd) black African do ever do so. But these acheievements mean nothing if you dont make it down alive, and he so very very nearly didnt!

Mountains are symbolic of opposition and aspirations… You can listen to the “Climbing your Mountains” message here, and download the slides with photo’s as well. (Unfortunately you will not be able to view the 3 short videos here)

Stunning London

Here’s a glimpse I had of the beauty of the greatest city in the world… took this pic of Hammersmith bridge as I rode home on my bike along the Thames after Bible School on Monday evening…

Don’t miss the beauty in your world today, no matter what the challenges…

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. – Psalm 23

Hope for 2012…

May the God of hope fill you (in 2012) with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow (in 2012) with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit – Romans 15:13
