What will we be remembered for?

Yesterday while enjoying the great city celebrating Al’s 50th birthday. I bumped into this hero, Robert Raikes (14 September 1736 – 5 April 1811).  He was an English philanthropist and Anglican layman, noted for his promotion of Sunday schools. That may not seem like something significant to everyone, but this pre-dates state schooling and by 1831 1,250,000 children were being schooled through what he started. This is seen as the first schools of the English state school system.  Search his name and be inspired by his story…
