Week of Prayer & Fasting, and Prayer Guide

A couple of times a year at Every Nation London we take time and focus through prayer & fasting to consecrate ourselves individually and as a church to the Lord for the next season.  “Consecration” means:

  • to make or declare something sacred; dedicate formally to a divine purpose.
  • taking the ordinary everyday things and setting them apart to the worship and service of God.
  • dedicating formally to a divine purpose.

After 40 years of wandering, now standing at the edge of the wilderness looking over the Jordan river looking at the Promised Land on the other side, Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow The Lord will do amazing things among you.’” – Joshua 3:5 .   Consecration prepares us today for what God has for us tomorrow. We separate & dedicated ourselves completely to Him today, because we trust Him to lead us and use us into a blessed tomorrow.

We invite you to join us this week as we seek the Lord in this way, committing ourselves to Him and His cause, and preparing our hearts for all He has for you in your future.

Remember:  Fasting is not as much about what you don’t do (eat, or whatever you choose to fast from, typically something the flesh craves or needs), but rather it is to make space to seek The Lord. It’s about desire, not duty. So decide what you will fast from, and for how long, and expectantly press in to the deeper of God for your life.
