Today is exactly 15 years since Ali & I arrived here in London with our “two backpacks and a vision” on Sept 4th 1993. We’d never been here before, and knew no-one. It certainly wasn’t exactly a great model for successful church planting! what planet were we on!
Hebrews 6:11-12
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
But here we are – its been an awesome God-adventure and we are fully convinced that the best days lie ahead. there’s no reason why the next year shouldn’t be the most fruitful yet. What we have learnt is that God is faithful. I pray that our story will in some little way encourage you to persevere in your own faith adventure. It takes faith, PLUS patience…
A huge thank you to everyone over these years who has parnered with us in so many ways on this journey.
PS – if you are or were part of Every Nation London (or His People London as we used to be), why not leave us a comment below sharing your most memorable moment, or what it meant to you?
Wolfi & Ali,
Congratulations, and we are glad that you were faithful and courageous! The world is not the same without you. We also moved to Ukraine in 1993. We did not have much preparation, but we did have big hearts. That is ultimately what it takes. God bless
Mike & Myra
We are not part of EN London (but will be!) but your story definitely inspires mavericks like us to take the nations for Christ. You are an example of a couple who learned to abide by God’s call despite of your “lackness thereof.”
Our response to this statement of yours?: “I pray that our story will in some little way encourage you to persevere in your own faith adventure.” Well, it has been. That’s why we are going to Spain.
You are definitely one of our heroes!
Thanks Wolfi for coming to London in 1993!
My most memorable event:
I was playing that guitar you are strumming in the picture, when you did not want to!
Hi Wolfi & Ali. We were part of His People church, London back in 1996 – on our big overseas experience. Thank you for the opportunity to be part. Went on to pastor full time in SA, then support a plant in New Zealand. You guys rock! Be encouraged and keep firing – your impact goes on beyond what you may perceive! God bless and go for it for what lies ahead. Cheers. R&R, Queenstown, NZ
You guys will never fully understand the impact you have had on so many lives. When I arrived in 2000 Mandy was already a committed HP member and I remember attending an Alpha boat trip the night I landed – square dancing included! Your guidance and love through the “Courting Book” solved so many fights we have never had to have. The one thing I will never forget is the money you gave us when I had been out of work for 6 months. It was given with such humility and respect that I still get teary when I think of it. Your lessons on money management and tithing have been foundational and the friendships made through cell/connect have lasted the best part of a decade. Thank you both for your dedication, your faith and the love that you demonstrate so “effortlessly”. Even though we left Every Nation 5 years ago to join a local church I still follow your sermons weekly on podcast! God bless you for another 70×7 – Leigh and Mandy, Taplow, Bucks.
Wolfi, I am amazed. I was looking at a photo of you and if it’s been 15 years you must have been, what, 15 years old when you arrived???
What creams do you use? What’s the secret?
Seriously though Wolfi & Ali we’re also very grateful to you, for loads that we won’t post here, including helping out in tough times.
God bless you Wolfi, Ali, Amy & Abby – may you enjoy another blessed 15 years and more. You’re all very special to us.
Lots of love,
Craig, Lesley, Aimee, Emma & Annabel.
