We launched our “Lord, teach us to pray” series with an incredible Sunday yesterday – one of the most fulfilling and dynamic west
London church services I have experienced here ever. I trust that my preaching did its bit too…(you can download the message here)
In the Bible King David expresses his hearts desire for intimacy with God in Psalm 27 verse 4:
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
Whether trying to be more effective in prayer, or in any other area of life, we do well to write up a longer “stop-doing list, as Jim Collins says in his best-seller book “Good To Great:”
“Most of us lead busy but undisciplined lives. We have ever expanding “to-do” lists, trying to build momentum by doing, doing, doing – and doing more. And it rarely works. Those who build the good-to great companies however, made as much use of “stop doing” lists as the “to do” lists. They displayed a remarkable amount of discipline to unplug all forms of extraneous junk”
Join me in the journey to writing a longer “Stop-doing list”… What do you need to put on yours?
Great to have you blogging!!! We appreciate you in Nashville!!
